Prato di Sotto is an imposing collection of historical buildings set in one of the most spectacular and tranquil positions in central Italy.
A 5 km. "white" road leads up to the mountain top location. lovingly restored by the resident owners and furnished with their personal collection of antiques and rugs from around the world, the emphasis throughout the property is on comfort and style. Beds are large and comfortable with crisp linen and kitchens are equipped for even the most demanding cook.
The gardens and individual terraces have been carefully designed to offer elegance and privacy while the 15 meter swimming pool area is ideal for relaxing with a book or socializing with friends.
The atmosphere is that of a country house, complete with friendly family pets (some available for "walkies") - and fresh vegetables and eggs are available from the kitchen garden.
The accommodation, which is designed to cater for 2- 12 guests in almost any combination offers four choices: 1. On the main floor of the farmhouse is Casa Antica, a two (and a half) bedroom apartment with two bathrooms; cool in summer and warm in winter it is beautifully fitted out to cater for up to 4 adults; French windows from the master bedroom lead on to a fig shaded terrace. 2. On the lower floor, with a private terrace running the length of the house (and for much of the summer resplendent in roses and its own vines) is La Terrazza with a vast kitchen/dining room - and two double bedrooms and one bathroom. 3. Il Molino is a romantic studio for 2 on the first floor of the 13th century olive mill adjacent to the farmhouse. The interior is cleverly designed to maximize the limited space but in the summer the large private verandah effectively doubles the living area.
4. For privacy and views the Cottage is hard to beat. Completely detached, this charming one bed retreat enjoys a lofty position with a magical view over the 12th century village of Santa Giuliana from the upstairs sitting room - or the double bedroom below. All apartments have central heating for the colder months. For Pricing Information Contact: Penny Radford/Harry Brazier Tel 0039-075-941-7383 Fax 0039-075-941-2473 or email: pennyradford@libero.it
