Bobeche \ bo-besh, n. \ A glass collar on a candle socket to catch dripping or on a candlestick or chandelier to hold suspended glass prisms.
The perfect addition to any decor, the bobeche, or glass collar, is an adaptation of a utilitarian device from the days before fire and electricity!! We, of course, use our bobeches to add accent and class. Bobeches come in several sizes and styles here at the House of Tuscany; below you will see some thumbnail pictures and associated links for the bobeches on offer from our house.
Note: Height and Diameter of the WHOLE affair, or bobeche is in metric (millimeters) and the center whole diameter is in inches. For example, in the below Y1100 Crystal Bobeche the smallest diameter available for this particular cut is 65mm or 6" inches. Notice the fact that when the Bobeches overall diameter reaches 254mm or 8" inches, the diameter of the center hole (where the candle or candelabra socket goes through) increases from 3/8" of an inch to 1/2" of an inch.
